Furniture Revamp : My junking journey

After months live with a half empty house, on a one bright day, I visit my parent's house and found this abandoned kitchen set outside. I was immediately mesmerized and asked my parents to take the ugly cabinet home. Of course, they were raising their eyebrows wondering what i am going to do with the cabinet..

At first glance, I had no plans to revamp the cabinet into a new kitchen set because the condition is too horrid to use. but the fact that the cabinet are made from real teakwood captivated me, despite the condition is faaaarr from perfect. It got me thinking that I can still use some of the woods into something with tons of idea in my mind.

I made few list of what I need at home in a jiffy.

Office Tour : Pop! your heart

I am thrilled to introduce you to my sister in law, Tania Larasati, a young creative start-up & the founder of Pop! Your heart customized card. Tania, who often to be called Anya, took a leap of faith when she left her career as a graphic designer in a prestigious advertising agency in 2012 to start her own business. To say, her office is FUN with quirky element design & bold color which completely wow me. Here's my interview with her :

1. Could you please tell me a bit about POP! Your heart and how you started the business?
Pop your heart is a customized gift card services, specialized for a Pop Up style card. The idea is to delivered a very personal yet fun greeting cards to our loved ones. Starting from a hobby, my partner,Mayu and I actually started the business in January 2012,but as the time goes by with the increasing numbers of customers, we decided to shift the business into a full-time type in September 2012 :)

2. what is exactly your office mood?
our office mood is Pop art

3. Can you describe in 5 word about your office style?
Fun,Colorful, Pop, Catchy, and playful.

4. Where did you look for inspiration and ideas?
Andy warhol his style for pop art and collage

5. What is your proudest DIY stuff in the room?
Pop up card for decoration

6. Any advice or tips would you give to other business owners?
"Believe in your dreams, everything is possible because you are your own problems"

Home Improvement

Just get reupholstered my old couch + dining chairs given by my mother in laws with a fresh colorful fabrics. FYI, the couch/chair had been used more than 10 years. we loved the result! :) #homeimprovement

I fell in love with the mirror at first sight! I know, I have to own this! Fortunately I have few unused mirror from my closet,it was broken because of the moving process :(  I remembered about this mirror in a flash and asked my craftmen to create an EXACT one at that time! The mirror was also combined with an unused wood material from hubby's old shelf..and VOILA!

HAPPY! :)

Founded by David Karp in 2007, Tumblr headquarters rich with dominant wood floors. I've expected something playful just like their stylish & updates themes but the office is suprisingly quite minimalistic and warm..its an office that gives a feeling at home :)

Happy Happy 2013!!

Happy 2013,everyone!! 2012 has been an amazing year & hope everything gone better in 2013 :D

talking about new year ahead, here's my 2013 resolution, (I only make a resolution I can actually keep by the way) :

1. Drink less coffee 
which I failed to do it every year *sighs*

2. Read more.
Procastinating is still my number 1 enemy when it comes to reading..until last night, hubby surprised me with a portable book light for a night reading. YOU..always solved my problems! thankyou :)

3. Write More
the main reason I have this blog, (beside improving my english skills), is to share some of my musings for home decorating stuff. I want to write more often this year. 

4. Invest more to the future
- exercise more regularly
- have a life insurance (my medical bills is covered under my husband company - but I think it's save to have my own)
- eat healthy food (I already did throughout 2012)
- I want to be more self-sufficient

All of these ideas about the future investment comes from a book "stop doing what you're doing and read this" - the book got me thinking and profoundly impacted my life just in 5 minutes skim-reading. ironically, I didn't even bought the book,I was randomly read it on a bookstore but every each sentence in the book is so powerful and it stick like a glue to my memory ever since! *I think I shall return and bought it!

I know 2013 will going to be an awesome year! Happy happy 2013 all! xoxo,
